Davenport man dies after being hit by SUV

AmbulanceDavenport police are releasing the name of the pedestrian who was hit and killed by an SUV.

It happened a little before 11 o’clock Tuesday night on a busy north Davenport street. Police say 57-year-old Robert Thompson of Davenport died at the scene.

He was struck by an SUV driven by 47-year-old Kimberly Ellis of Orlando, Florida. She was not injured. Police say Thompson was attempting to cross the street in an area where there is no crosswalk. No charges are pending.
