Patrol-logoAn Ohio man accused of stabbing his mother to death was caught speeding on an Iowa interstate.

Just before 10:30 Sunday morning a vehicle was clocked going north on Interstate 35, near Dows, at 98 miles an hour. Authorities say 35-year-old Burley Blankenship of Cleveland, Ohio, was the driver. He’s wanted in Cleveland for the murder of his 54-year-old mother.

His family has told local media in Cleveland that Blankenship suffers from “severe mental health issues.”

Blankenship is being held in the Hamilton County Jail in Webster City. Cleveland officials issued a warrant for his arrest today. Blankenship has also been charged in Iowa with second degree theft and traffic violations.
