GavelA Bettendorf MMA fighter and promoter has admitted to filing a false tax return. Fifty-five-year-old Monte Cox reached a plea deal were he admitted to filing a false tax return in 2009.

Cox admitted in the plea that from a four-year period between 2007 and 2010 he under reported his income to the Internal Revenue Service from his work as an MMA fighter and promoter through his business Ultimate Productions Incorporated.

The unreported income included $406,000 in 2009 and totaled more than $1.1 million in the 4 years. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 24th.
