Northern Iowa stood 2-4 after a loss to Western Illinois back on October 17th and coach Mark Farley declared that his team would need to win out to earn a bid into the FCS playoffs. Four wins later and the Panthers are on the doorstep as they get set to host Southern Illinois to close out the regular season.
Farley says the Panthers are in with a win.
“Once we hit that South Dakota State game we knew where we were at and what we had to do and we have done a nice job of improving week to week and put ourselves in position to play this game”, said Farley. “With the schedule we have had and the way our league is we just need to do our job.”
The Panthers are 6-4 and the Salukis enter the game with a record of 3-7.
