Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery says transition defense will be a key when the Hawkeyes host Florida State on Wednesday night in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Seminoles are 4-1 and averaging better than 91 points per game.

McCaffery says slowing down the fast break begins with solid play on the offensive end.

“A bad shot is often the same as a turnover”, said McCaffery. “If you turn it over it is a problem against Florida State and if you take a bad shot it is a problem. Any team that plays that way with those kinds of athletes you have to take care of the ball and take good shots.”

The Hawkeyes are 4-2. It will be an 8:20p.m. tipoff in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
