Heavy weekend of presidential campaign activity in Iowa

December 4, 2015 By O. Kay Henderson

There are more than a handful of presidential candidates campaigning in Iowa this weekend and Fort Dodge will be a crossroads for three of them.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will make stops in Sioux City late this morning and Fort Dodge this afternoon. Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie will be in Fort Dodge early this evening, for a forum on foreign policy issues. Rand Paul has several stops in Iowa today, including one at the Fort Dodge Library this afternoon.

Ted Cruz will stop at a central Iowa gun shop to talk about the Second Amendment this afternoon. On Saturday, Donald Trump will hold rallies in Spencer and Davenport. Five GOP candidates — including Cruz and Paul as well as Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina and Rick Santorum — will attend what’s called the Rising Tide Summit in Cedar Rapids.
