December 7, 2015 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police car lightsTwo eastern Iowa men died in a two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Interstate 80 in central Nebraska.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the accident occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. when an eastbound semi attempted to enter a rest area exit but, was unable to make it and merged at a slow speed back into the traffic lane where it was rear-ended by a straight truck.

The driver of the straight truck, 25-year-old Adrian Carrillo, and a passenger, 48-year-old Roberto Garcia-Gonzales, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died in the collision. The driver of the semi, 34-year-old Al-Jabba Hopkins of Wendell, North Carolina, was not injured. A passenger aboard the semi sustained minor injuries.
