Panthers to challenge four-time champs

The Northern Iowa Panthers will try to end North Dakota State’s four year reign as national champion when they visit the Bison on Saturday in the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs.

It is the second straight year that the Panthers have played a Missouri Valley foe in the playoffs. Last year they were eliminated by eventual runner up Illinois State.

The Panthers lost the regular season game at North Dakota State 31-28 back on October 10th but coach Mark Farley says the first game will have little impact on this one.

“It seems like it was last season and it really does not seem like it was two months ago”, said Farley. “We have fought our way into a good position right now and I am very pleased with how we are playing.”

Uni has won seven straight games after opening the season 2-4.
