Fourth ranked Iowa State hosts Iowa in an intrastate basketball matchup in Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones are 7-0 and this will be coach Steve Prohm’s first game as part of the series. The first-year Cyclone coach says it did not take him long to find out about the rivalry with Iowa.

“As a coach I always say it is the next game but from a fans’ standpoint obviously it is a huge deal”, said Prohm. “It is a big thing and it is for us as coaches and players because you want to win it because you know what it means to the people.”

The home team has won eight of the last 10 games in the series but the Cyclones won last year’s game in Iowa City. Tipoff in Ames is 6:30p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
