Experience and defense has helped lead the Central College men’s basketball team to a 7-1 start to the season.

Junior Colby Taylor is averaging more than 24 points per game for the Dutch and the native of Creston is connecting on 60 percent from the field, including 50 percent from three point range.

“Our inside game is better as well”, said Central coach Craig Douma. “Junior Ryan Kunkel from Solon has really stepped up and is averaging nearly about 12 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game. He is also a shot blocker who protects the paint.”

The Dutch are holding their opponents to 38 percent shooting. They return to action on Thursday night with a visit to Martin Luther College.
