The Iowa women’s basketball team was supposed to have last weekend off heading into finals week. That all changed when the Hawkeyes lost at Iowa State 69-66 and Iowa coach Lisa Bluder held a rare unscheduled practice on Saturday.
“I don’t remember the last time I did that but I needed to get back on the court and I think they needed to get back on the court”, said Bluder. “It was one of the better practices we had in a long time so I think it was effective and they got the message loud and clear.”
When the Hawkeyes return to action they will be without sophomore forward Carly Mohns. The Wisconsin native suffered a knee injury in practice this week and will be out from one to four months.
Iowa is 8-2 and will host Bradley on Saturday.
