A Sioux City man is facing multiple charges following a pursuit Saturday afternoon that began in Sioux City, Iowa, and ended in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Woodbury County deputies were pursuing 19-year-old Zachary Frye around 1 p.m. on the Interstate 129 bypass from Iowa into Nebraska. A Dakota County deputy picked up the chase which ended when Frye’s passenger pulled the emergency brake, causing the vehicle to stop.

Frye was taken to the Dakota County Jail for warrants in Iowa and South Dakota. He was also charged with felony eluding, willful reckless driving, no operator’s license, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, a minor in possession of alcohol and having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle in Nebraska.

A felony possession of a controlled substance charge is also pending in Nebraska.

The passenger was released by authorities.
