HandgunState officials say “preliminary” information indicates a shooting death in northeast Iowa this weekend was accidental.

Authorities found a man shot to death in a home in Nashua Saturday. The man has been identified as 56-year-old Karl Phillip White of Nashua and authorities say they know who fired the gun.

According to a written statement from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, White was killed by the “possible accidental discharge of a weapon.” No charges have been filed, but it’s still an open case and the investigation continues.
