Dundee farmer dies after accidental shooting

January 5, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

AmbulanceA northeast Iowa farmer has died in a farm-related accident. Fifty-seven-year old Randy Kelchen of Dundee was found dead at his farm Monday afternoon.

According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Kelchen had been working with livestock and used a shotgun to euthanize an aggressive bull. Authorities say as he was climbing the gate out of the barnyard,  the shotgun accidentally discharged, and the gunshot wound was instantly fatal.
