Winning at home is imperative for any team with conference championship aspirations and the 13th ranked Iowa State Cyclones will get their first chance to hold serve on Wednesday night when they host Texas Tech.

The Cyclones opened the Big 12 race with a loss over the weekend at second ranked Oklahoma.

“You have got to take care of home”, said Iowa State coach Steve Prohm. “If you are not 9-0 you better at least be 8-1 if you want a chance to win a conference championship and then you have got to go and take care of business on the road at certain places.”

Under third year coach Tubby Smith Texas Tech is 11-1 and opened the league race with an 82-74 win over Texas. The Red Raiders are riding their first 10 game winning streak in a dozen years.

“Offensively they are a team that wants to drive you and the biggest thing is keeping them out of the paint and off the free throw line.”
