The 19th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes bounced back from a bad start and roared past Nebraska 77-66 in Iowa City as the Hawkeyes moved to 3-0 in the Big Ten for the first time since 2002.

The Huskers raced out to a 10-0 lead but the Hawkeyes roared back and took control with a 12-0 run to close the opening half.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says the Hawkeyes turned the game around with defense.

“It completely changed the energy level in the building for our team and for the fans and it really got us going”, said McCaffery. “That was important that the lead was not able to drag the entire half and we were able to go in up nine.”

Jarrod Uthoff led Iowa with 25 points and Mike Gessell added 22 points and 10 assists as the Hawkeyes improve to 12-3 overall.
