The 25-game home court winning streak for the Iowa Hawkeye women came to an end in lopsided fashion. Eighth ranked Maryland jumped out to an early lead and was never threatened in a 76-56 victory.

Iowa struggled on offense the entire way. The Hawkeyes made only two of 11 from three point rage and made only 12 of 21 at the foul line. They also committed 16 turnovers.

“We did not take care of the basketball enough especially in the first half”, said Iowa coach Lisa Bluder. “They have 18 points off turnovers and we only had eighth assists. That is not Iowa basketball.”

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough led Maryland with 19 points and Brionna Jones added 15 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Ally Disterhoft and Megan Gustafson each had 14 points for the Hawkeyes who fall to 2-2 in the Big Ten and 12-4 overall.
