An explosion and fire destroyed a Mason City auto repair business Monday.

Everyone escaped injury when an explosion and fire hit a Mason City auto repair business.

The staff at Charlie’s Auto Repair realized they were in danger when LP gas started to leak from a Schwann’s delivery truck, with an explosion happening at about 2:45 Monday afternoon.

All the employees escaped safely. The building was still standing Monday night but it has been declared a total loss. The fire is still being investigated.
