Fire destroyed a tire warehouse in Fort Dodge on Monday afternoon and damaged nearby businesses.
The fire started at about 1:00 p.m. at the Graham Tire warehouse at 1520 Central Avenue, located right across from the Fort Dodge fire station. Heavy fire and smoke was coming from the upper floors of the building.
The Webster City Fire Department assisted the Fort Dodge fire fighters with manpower and an additional aerial ladder.The fire also damaged a training facility owned by the Fort Dodge Baseball Association.
A Fort Dodge firefighter was injured and was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. No other injuries were reported. The fire was under control as of Monday evening but firefighters remained on the scene toward the total extinguishment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
