Police in the state’s capital city are investigating their first muder case of 2016.
Des Moines Police were called at 4:30 Sunday morning to check on the welfare of a woman living in a home on the city’s southeast side. The woman was found dead inside her home. She’s identified as 71-year-old Norma Jean McNeeley and police say her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police are not saying how she may’ve been killed and there’s no word of any arrests in the case.
