The Drake Bulldogs look to finally break through in Missouri Valley Conference play when they visit Illinois State.

Third-year coach Ray Giacoletti entered the season confident the Bulldogs would show significant improvement but instead they have stumbled to an 0-8 Valley mark.

“You have got to be able to execute down the stretch”, said Giacoletti. “That means the last three possessions offensively and defensively you have got to score and get stops. We’re close but you have got to learn how to get over the hump and we have not been able to do that.”

Illinois State is 5-3 in the Valley and rallied from a 10 point deficit to beat the Bulldogs 67-62 in their first meeting in Des Moines.
