Iowa senior forward Jarrod Uthoff is featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. It is part of feature story by the magazine calling the Iowa Hawkeyes the surprise team in college basketball.
The fifth ranked Hawkeyes are 8-1 in the Big Ten and start the second half of the league race at home on Wednesday night against Penn State.
“I think it is a reflection of what they have accomplished”, said Iowa coach Fran McCaffery. “When you see them working as hard as our guys work you want to see them recognized properly. So I think it is a terrific honor and I have great respect for that publication”
McCaffery is not concerned it will become a distraction and says experience has helped this team do a good job of handling success.
Penn State is 2-7 in the Big Ten.
