A 17-year-old from Maxwell died in a one-vehicle accident in rural Story County early Saturday morning.
The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Chase R. Mohler. Reportedly a 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup truck driven by Mohler was traveling southbound on 645th Avenue near Maxwell when the pickup crested a hill and lost control.
The Mohler pickup vaulted back up and came to rest in a farm drive embankment. Mohler was pronounced dead at the accident scene. A passenger, 16-year-old William J. Spencer of Maxwell was transported to a Des Moines hospital for treatment of his injuries.
