Indiana man given long prison term for shooting Chariton woman

February 24, 2016 By Dar Danielson

GavelAn Indiana man will spend more than a decade in prison for shooting an Iowa woman last year.

Forty-six-year-old Robert Graham of Michigan City, Indiana pleaded guilty in November of last year to interstate domestic violence.

Graham admitted he traveled to Chariton in January of last year, and then shot Gayle Darrah with a shotgun as she left home for work. The two had been involved in a relationship. Court documents say Darrah suffered severe injuries. Graham was later arrested in Missouri after a standoff with police at a state park. He was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in prison.
