Some areas of the state could get snow tonight.

Twenty seven counties in northeast Iowa are under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at six this evening through tomorrow morning. National Weather Service meteorologist, Craig Cogil, says snowfall amounts will vary.

“We’re going to see snow develop this evening and continue overnight — really looking at anywhere maybe two to four inches — mainly along the Highway 20 corridor. and heavier amounts as you get further east in Iowa. So, certainly could be some slick conditions by tomorrow morning,” Cogil says. The snow may not last a long time.

He says the snow will move out and we’ll have slightly warmer temperatures by the middle of the week. Another chance for light snow exists for Wednesday night and Thursday in Iowa.
