Iowa’s senior U.S. Senator isn’t jumping on board the “Trump Train” just yet. Republican Chuck Grassley isn’t saying if he’ll support Donald Trump, should the billionaire businessman win the GOP presidential nomination.

“I don’t know whether I ought to be making any comment on any of the three or four potential nominees…until they’re our nominee,” Grassley said.

Trump cemented his front-runner status Tuesday with presidential primary wins in 7 of 11 states. Many Republicans in Congress have sought to distance themselves from Trump and his controversial statements. Grassley isn’t joining that chorus just yet, focusing instead on the likely Democratic nominee. Hillary Clinton also won 7 of 11 states on Tuesday.

“I can assure you that I’m going to do everything I can to make sure Hillary Clinton is not President of the United States,” Grassley said. Back on January 23, Senator Grassley spoke at a rally for Donald Trump in Pella. Grassley, who’s seeking a seventh term in November, did not endorse Trump and appeared with other GOP candidates in the days leading up to the Iowa Caucuses.
