Sophomore center Matt Fagan scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Council Bluffs St. Albert ousted top-seeded Danville 69-46 in a class 1A quarterfinal.
“My teammates set me up with a lot of easy looks today”, said Fagan. “Their defense was aggressive but we knew that coming in and they did a great job of dishing the ball.”
St. Albert shot 54 percent for the game and outrebounded Danville 35-24.
“I just think the game was one and lost on rebounding”, said Danville coach Ken Laffoon. “We just did not clear enough.”
Kole Perkins led Danville with 17 points as the Bears close the season with a record of 24-2.
