Northern Iowa and Drake will be the top two seeds this week at the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament at the iWireless Center in the Quad Cities. The Panthers are the top seed after winning the Valley regular season title.

“I could not be more happy for this team, our staff and the work everybody has put in but especially for this senior class”, said UNI coach Tanya Warren. “To be able to send them out with a regular season championship means more than I can possibly put into words.”

The Panthers play Friday at Noon against the winner of Thursday’s game between Bradley and Wichita State.

Despite winning the regular season title the Panthers will need to win the conference tournament to get into the NCAA Tournament.

“We have been in this position before and we understand it is survive and advance.”

Drake is seeded second. The Bulldogs open Friday at 6:00p.m. against the winner of Thursday’s game between Evansville and Illinois State.
