Council Bluffs man sent to prison for distributing meth

March 15, 2016 By Dar Danielson

GavelA Council Bluffs man will spend more than a decade in prison on drug and firearm charges.

Fifty-seven-year-old Carlton Allan Owens pleaded guilty in November to possession with intent to distribute meth and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Owens was arrested after Council Bluffs police responded to a domestic disturbance call and found 600 grams of meth, a large amount of cash and a loaded handgun at his property.

Owens had been previously convicted of a felony. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison on the drug charge and 10 years on the weapons charge and will serve both sentences at the same time.
