The Iowa State Cyclones return to the practice floor as they prepare for Friday night’s Midwest Region semifinal against top seeded Virginia in Chicago.

It will be the Cyclones second appearance in the Sweet 16 in three years.

“I can’t be more happy for our guys”, said Iowa State coach Steve Prohm. “You see how these games go and it is a blessing to be in the Sweet 16. Now we have got to go make the most of our opportunity.”

Virginia is 28-7 and finished second to North Carolina in the ACC regular season race and the conference tournament. Prohm says Virginia’s style of play will force the Cyclones to be patient on offense.

“The one pass three is not want you want against them. We want to run our action, get spaced and drive it.”

The winner of Friday’s game will play the winner of the game between Syracuse and Gonzaga for the Midwest Region title.
