West Des Moines police are trying to sort out a dispute that led to a shooting Monday.
Police were called on the report of a fight and possible shooting around 4:20 Monday and found 37-year-old Jason Evans of West Des Moines in the side yard of a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital. Police then ordered the man suspected of shooting Evans out of the house.
They say 30-year-old Cody Moravec came out after several minutes and was taken into custody. Moravec was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the fight. Police say the injuries to both men are believed to be non-life threatening.
Investigators are trying to determine how the fight got started and say they will file any charges after completing that investigation and consulting with the county attorney.
