Benton County officials have now charged a Shellsburg man in connection with the death of a woman in October of last year.
Agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation joined the Sheriff’s office to arrest of 32-year-old David Charles Miller on a warrant for first-degree murder for his role in the October 25 death of Sabrina Hustad.
Hustad was found dead in the driveway of Miller’s home in Shellsburg after a stolen truck and a blood trail was discovered near Shellsburg by some residents. An autopsy by the State Medical Examiner determined that Hustad died from multiple stab wounds and strangulation, and her death was ruled a homicide.
Miller has been held in the Benton County Jail since last October without bond on a parole violation and charge of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
