AmbulanceThe death of an infant is under investigation in north-central Iowa. Webster City Police Sunday morning received a call from residence of an unresponsive six-week-old child.

Officers and paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the child to the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City where the child was pronounced dead.

Webster City Police Chief Shiloh Mork said the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist with the investigation which is ongoing. The name of the infant has not been released.
