There is a new look and a new style of play on defense at Iowa State where the Cyclones are going back to a four-man front under new coach Matt Campbell.
The Cyclones had switched to a 3-4 defense prior to the 2015 season.
“With the four man front we are going to really focus on attacking the line of scrimmage and creating pressure on the quarterback and getting off the field on third down”, said Iowa State defensive line coach Eli Rasheed. “From the past being in the odd front it is a little bit different for our guys.”
Among the players returning is Big-12 defensive newcomer of the year Demond Tucker, who spent most of last season at nose guard.
Iowa State’s spring game is April 16.
