Officials with Quad Cities-based John Deere announced a merger with a north-central Iowa manufacturing company.

John Deere will be taking most of the ownership over Clarion based Hagie Manufacturing. Hagie produces a line of sprayers for agricultural use. Hagie Manufacturing will keep its name and production facility in Clarion.

Hagie C.E.O. Alan Hagie said he hopes the partnership will reach more customers by joining John Deere’s global distribution channel. Hagie Manufacturing has been in business since 1947.
