Cedar Rapids teen charged in fatal shooting

April 7, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Crime Scene TapeA 13-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with what Cedar Rapids Police are calling an “unintentional shooting” of another teenager last month.

Police say they arrested Dennis Warren on Monday on charges that include involuntary manslaughter, carrying weapons, and obstructing prosecution.

The 13-year-old boy is accused of handling a gun that fired and struck 15-year-old Senquez Jackson, who died on March 19. Investigators believe Warren thought the gun was unloaded. He’s being held at the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center.
