Iowa City prostitution sting leads to 12 arrests

Police-lightsIowa City police arrested 12 men and women in a prostitution and human trafficking sting.

An Iowa City police news release says a task force of state and local law officers known as the Iowa Law Enforcement Intelligence Network used surveillance and undercover officers Tuesday at an undisclosed location looking for people involved in human trafficking or prostitution.

The investigation led to 12 people being charged with prostitution or soliciting prostitution after they answered online ads.
