Name of Davenport fire victim released

Fire-truck-300x279The Davenport fire department is releasing the name of a man who died in a fire.

Firefighters were dispatched a little after 6 Monday night to a mobile home near Davenport’s western edge. Davenport Fire Chief Lynn Washburn says while responding, crews were advised that one individual might be inside the home. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, and a man’s body was found later during a search.

Davenport Fire Marshal Mike Hayman says 50-year old Anthony O. Shelton died in the fire. The cause of death is pending an autopsy. The cause of the fire, which originated in the living room, is still under investigation.
