Hawkeye man charged after teen rolls ATV

April 29, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Sheriff-patrolA 13-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital and an adult is facing charges following an ATV rollover crash in northeast Iowa.

The accident happened on Tuesday in Hawkeye. According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, two teens – ages 14 and 13 – were on the ATV when the driver lost control and it rolled in a ditch.

The 13-year-old, who was the passenger, was transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. He was released with minor injuries, according to a news release.

The sheriff’s office cited 34-year-old Jason Cannon of Hawkeye for permitting an unauthorized minor to drive, a simple misdemeanor.
