Clinton teacher charged with sexually abusing a student

May 24, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Police car lightsA Clinton School District teacher is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Clinton Police issued the arrest warrant in the case with the assistance of the Fulton, Illinois, Police Department. Forty-year-old Christopher J. Nielsen was arrested for third-degree sexual abuse. He was arrested on Friday and held in the Whiteside County Jail until Nielsen waved extradition and was transferred to the Clinton County Jail this week.

The criminal complaint details the investigation after the parents of the 15-year-old student went to police with concerns about the uncomfortable relationship their daughter had with Nielsen.
