Prison employee put on leave, investigation underway at Medical Classification Center

May 26, 2016 By Matt Kelley

Corrections-logoA prison employee is on leave and an investigation is underway at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville.

The investigation is being handled by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, but DCI spokesman Alex Murphy says for now he can’t comment any further. Department of Corrections spokesman Fred Scaletta confirms one IMCC employee has been placed on leave, but Scaletta is not discussing what the DCI is investigating.

The Iowa Medical and Classification Center, also known as Oakdale, is the first stop for all men who are sentenced to prison in the state.
