Iowa’s magical run in the Big Ten Tournament ended with a loss to Ohio State in the championship game. The Buckeyes scored a run in the top of the ninth to post an 8-7 victory. It was their fourth win in two days at the tournament.

A crowd of better than 10,500 fans watched the game at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha and most of them were Hawkeyes fans.

“I just really feel disappointed that we were not able to find a way to win that game for them”, said Iowa coach Rick Heller. “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the support and it also means our program has come a long ways.”

The Hawkeyes raced out to a 4-0 lead but the Buckeyes turned the game around by scoring five runs in the top of the fourth inning.

Iowa ends the season with a record of 30-26.
