Denison police chief resigns with no explanation

June 24, 2016 By Radio Iowa Contributor

Dennison-police-patchRumors are swirling, but all that’s known for sure is that a western Iowa police chief has quit his job.

On Tuesday, the Denison city council went into closed session for an employee evaluation requested by Denison Police Chief John Emswiler. Following that session on Thursday, at approximately 8:30 AM, Denison Mayor Dan Leinen issued a request for the resignation of Emswiler.

Leinen received and accepted Emswilers resignation at 11 o’clock that morning. No other information is available at this time.
