North Liberty man charged in murder-for-hire plan

Police car lightsA North Liberty man is accused of trying to hire someone to kill his family and a business associate.

North Liberty police say 36-year-old Justin DeWitt was arrested around Monday evening and charged with four counts of attempted murder and four counts of solicitation to commit murder. A news release from the department says DeWitt offered a payment to an undercover state agent to kill his family and a business associate.

Police say the investigation is continuing and they are not releasing any other details on the case at this time.
