Council Bluffs pedestrian dies after being hit by truck

Ambulance-Back-DoorA southwest Iowa pedestrian has died after being hit by a pickup.

Council Bluffs Police early Wednesday afternoon said 42-year-old Sharon Richards, of Council Bluffs, died at a hospital in Omaha. Richards was hit by a full-size pickup as she was crossing against the pedestrian crosswalk signal 10 P.M. Tuesday, at the intersection of 35th and W. Broadways Streets, in Council Bluffs.

Police say the driver of the pickup, 22-year-old Steven Hart, of Omaha, will not face any criminal charges in connection with the accident.
