AmbulanceA woman was injured in a Saturday night accident on a western Iowa lake — and authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who was involved.

It happened at Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs. Twenty-nine-year-old Laura Goodburn of Omaha was thrown off a jet ski and taken to a Council Bluffs hospital for treatment of a neck injury.

Goodburn told authorities she did not know who was driving the jet ski she was riding at the time. She and a friend who was on the scene described the jet ski driver as a white, middle-aged man, about six feet tall and of average weight with short hair that was either red, blonde or gray.

Goodburn and her friend said the jet ski was orange, black and gold. Law enforcement searched the lake and areas around it, but could not find a jet ski matching that description.

The accident happened at about 6:30 Saturday night. Lake Manawa covers 772 acres. It was formed in 1881 when a Missouri River side channel was cut off after a flood.
