Man dies in Des Moines after attack

Des-Moines-PD-logoDes Moines Police say a man has died following an alleged assault. Police were called on Sunday afternoon to area on Des Moines’ southwest side to investigate an assault.

The victim, 32-year-old Ryan Thompson, was taken to a hospital. Police say he died on Monday. A suspect has been identified in the case, according to police, but no charges have been filed.

Police says they’re waiting for autopsy results, conducting interviews and consulting with the Polk County Attorney’s Office before filing any charges.
