Man faces attempted murder charge in Marshalltown shooting

Crime Scene TapeMarshalltown police say the suspect in a shooting case has turned himself in.

Forty-five-year old Perry DeWalt surrendered to authorities Monday afternoon. The shooting incident took place just north of downtown Marshalltown Saturday afternoon. The victim in the case is identified as 47-year-old Dustin Inman. He was taken to Central Iowa Health Care where he was treated and released.

DeWalt faces charges of attempted murder and being armed with intent. DeWalt was taken to the Marshall County Jail. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Tuesday.
