Zach Johnson will be one of the favorites this week at the John Deere Classic near the Quad Cities. The Cedar Rapids native won the tournament in 2012 and has finished out of the top three only once in the last seven years.

The 40-year-old Johnson is ranked 22nd in the world and considers the John Deere Classic to be a “home game”.

“I have embraced the fact that it is a fun week for me because I have family and friends that come out”, said Johnson. “It does not matter if I shoot 78 or 62 here they are still going to cheer me on and that is pretty special. That is why it has always been a highlight on my calender.”

The first round of the John Deere Classic is Thursday at the TPC at Deere Run.
