Dave Arseneault Jr. is returning to Grinnell College to take over as the head coach of the men’s basketball program. He replaces his father, Dave Arseneault Sr., who will be taking a sabbatical leave.

Arseneault Jr. spent the past two years as the head coach of Reno in the NBA D-League.

“I had thought that it would be good for my development a couple of years ago to take some time away from Grinnell and experience a different level and different style of basketball”, said Arseneault. “After going to high school in Grinnell and college in Grinnell it might make sense for a short period of time to try something new and I had a great experience in the D-League.”

Arseneault served on his father’s staff at Grinnell College from 2009 to 2014 and says he enjoyed the opportunity to coach in the professional ranks.

“And at the same time there were a lot things I missed about the Grinnell community, about Grinnell College and about the qualities you find in a student-athlete at Grinnell College.”
